The Behavioral Health Workforce Center was established to increase Illinois’ capacity to recruit, educate and retain behavioral health professionals, from peer support specialists to psychiatrists. A primary goal of the Center is to be a statewide resource for workforce development opportunities, as well as data and information for those working to expand access to careers in behavioral health programs and services.

Illinois DocAssist is a free, statewide telephone consultation program available to any health care provider in Illinois. The program’s mission is to provide mental health expertise as you care for pediatric and perinatal patients with mental health, behavioral, and substance misuse disorders. Consultation can include expert guidance in Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) for the treatment of opioid use disorders. Board-certified psychiatrists, with specialties in women’s and pediatric mental health are on hand to provide guidance, answer questions, assist in developing a treatment plan, and offer resources using evidence-based information Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST at 866-986-2778.
