IPHCA represents its members through communication between the Association, the Illinois General Assembly and the state executive branch. The governmental affairs department implements the Association’s legislative agenda and advocates on behalf of individual member requests to legislators.
IPHCA works with the National Association of Community Health Centers to advance its federal agenda on the Hill. Advocacy efforts include directly lobbying members of Congress and working with executive branch officials to effectuate positive action on federal laws and regulations that affect community health centers. IPHCA also coordinates the Illinois delegation’s activities during NACHC's annual Policy and Issues (P&I) Forum and Hill Day in Washington, DC.
