Through its Clinician Recruitment and Workforce Development Service, the Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) provides complimentary recruitment and retention assistance to organizational and associate members. One clinician at a time, IPHCA works to improve the health status of the medically underserved.

Our Success
IPHCA placed 54 clinicians in 2010, including 26 physicians, ten nurse practitioners, eight physician assistants, eight dentists, one certified nurse midwife and one licensed clinical professional counselor.
Our Services
IPHCA members have reported great benefit from this valuable service. IPHCA has worked with over 3,000 candidates in the past ten years. In addition, IPHCA assists community health centers with recruitment efforts by:
• Posting advertisements for open positions in IPHCA Health SourceTM, as well as additional venues including job boards, websites and at job fairs.
• Offering guidance, tools and resources about recruitment, retention, contracting, credentialing, immigration issues, compensation and clinician productivity.
• Serving as a clearinghouse of information regarding National Health Service Corps (NHSC) programs, including loan repayment, scholarships and Ready Responders.
• Assisting CHCs with enrolling as an NHSC site.
• Continuously publishing recruitment, retention and workforce development articles in IPHCA Health SourceTM.
• Offering expertise with regard to the Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) Center for Rural Health programs, including loan repayment and scholarships.
