Please join your fellow community health centers (CHCs) members for IPHCA’s Emergency Management 101: Tools of the Trade, a four-part Emergency Management Webinar Series in April and May 2013. Starting on Tuesday, April 9, IPHCA will host one-hour emergency management-themed Webinars every two weeks through May 21. Each of the webinars will highlight emergency planning resources, tools, templates, strategies, and case studies that seeks to enhance your CHC’s emergency management (EM) work.
This training is partly funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Webinar topics include:
- April 9: Accessing Key State Emergency Management Resources for CHCs
- April 23: CHC’s Roles in Emergency Response and Connecting to Disaster Community/Coalition Building
- May 7: Linking Emergency Management to Patient Centered Medical Health Home Work Implementation
- May 21: Operationalizing Incident Command in a CHC
Target Audience
The course is recommended for health care emergency management personnel, emergency planners andother personnel that may have a role in the incident command system within their FQHC or in their community.
Presenter
Nora O’Brien – Principal Consultant, Connect Consulting Services
Nora O’Brien, MPA, CEM, is the Principal Consultant for Connect Consulting Services, an emergency management consulting firm that specializes in working with CHCs throughout the country. During her eight-year tenure at the California Primary Care Association (CPCA), Ms. O’Brien was successful in securing $28 million in emergency supplies, equipment, and trainings for CA CHCs and CPCA. Ms. O’Brien has a Masters degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Disaster and Emergency Management and was granted the Certified Emergency Manager status by the International Association of Emergency Managers.
